Thanks to the generosity of donors around the world, the progress on the new classroom building at Dhammajarinee Witthaya School continues. The exterior is nearly finished and work on the interior is underway as well. The goal is to have the building complete in time for the start of the new school year, which in Thailand is May, 2014. Recently a $10k Thai donation for the classrooms came through, leaving the school with $97k more to raise. When complete, this building will double the classroom space at the school.
The Thai Education Department officials just completed their three day visit to the school for its five year assessment. The officials were so impressed that they all gave donations! One even commented that he wanted to send his nieces to the school. This would be an impressive comment on any school. But the fact that Dhammajarinee Witthaya School focuses on serving disadvantaged girls makes their results even more impressive. The final evaluation score will be given when the yearly testing is finished in a few weeks and we'll update you then.
